Yeah that is some fantastic grain for sure. Almost seems like a steal at that price.
 
It's a grain that were the pipe by the late Baldo Baldi he'd have put a 1 in front of the price tag.
 
Not that I have a problem with shape-grain synergy (up to a point), but carving to display nice graining, and letting the grain dictate the shape are two different affairs.

The pipe looks well executed and the wood is awesome, but I find that shape quite unappealing...
