There's been some controversy about this seller whether what he sells is truly made by who he states it is.
As far as the other, shall we say Off Brands, I haven't a clue. I would certainly look into his feedback of buyers of them and also take into consideration who is buying them evaluating them by there number of feedback.
Of course everyone knows I'm a paranoid schizophrenic anyway. :fpalm:
 
What Cart said...this is the same seller that a couple of years back had a bunch of "Eltang" pipes for sale. I contacted him about one of the classic Eltang rusticated cuttys because in the photos, there were no stampings on the pipe at all. He said it was genuine, so I contacted Tom Eltang and he verified that it was NOT authentic. Stem work was wrong, rustication was wrong, no stamp...I would steer clear of that seller all together personally.
 
If you're buying his Road Town, Golden Gate, or HS Studio stuff, I would say you're fine. They are good pipes for the money from what I've heard. Anything by a well known maker, such as Eltang, steer clear of from this guy.

It would sure help if eBay would tighten up their fraud procedures.

Unfortunately, in this genre, that is almost impossible. Ebay would have to employ a team of pipe specialists to review ads.

So, it pays to research like this OP is doing for this controversial seller. (personally, I'd steer clear of this seller)
