New Nessmuk

Finally gave in to the lure of new steel.  Popped for my favorite Nessmuk knife out there...one made in Finland by Brisa.  It even has a Scandi grind with a good secondary bevel...nice Curley Birch scales with red liners and a good looking and functional sheath.  The specific steel, Carbonsteel 80CrV2, is field reviewed as being very very tough and good at holding an edge.  Works for me.  Links & photo below.

I've never heard of Brisa (but you know by now that I don't know shit about knife brands). Are they comparable to Roselli?

Well, both are based in Finland and their designs come from that heritage. But Roselli is a smaller company with specialized knife production and their own proprietary ultra high carbon line.   Brisa is a company that sells a myriad of knife making supplies online, plus the knives of many other makers including Roselli and their own line of knives (Enzo) with a wide variety of steels including S30V, Elmax, D2, O1...etc. So, they’re different but related.

I also really appreciate the Enzo products.  I have a small folder with a 3” D2 blade, Scandi grind, that is a thing of beauty.  To me, both the little folder and the Nessmuk are really special s they have a Scandi grind.  Nothing bites into wood while carving quite like a Scandi.

PS: I’m not really any kind of expert here...but I have made a number of knives with Roselli blades and ordered item directly from Brisa in Finland.
