A local liquor store had a sale on Ocean Organic Vodka, $16.99/750 mi. bottle. At Total Wine it's $32.99 and at another nearby local, $42.99. I bought a bottle for $16.99. It's distilled in Hawaii from sugar cane. I'm wondering why it's not considered white rum?

According to Craft Spirit Exchange, "Vodka is a clear, unaged spirit produced using any ingredient that has fermentable sugars. Cereal grains like rye, barley and wheat are most common, but vodka can also be made with potatoes, grapes or sugar beets, among other things...the legal definition of vodka is a “colorless, odorless, flavorless” spirit."

So I guess practically anything can be vodka
