Came home from the shooting range with a pocketful of brass; remembered a chunk of oak dowel out on the workbench.  One for the fishing bag and one for the easy chair...

I think if you push a .223 case down into that 9mm it works to get you an all brass tamper.  A guy here made one for me once...very nice item.  No that can’t be right...9mm = .35 “.  Hmmmm.  Any thoughts?

Edit:  OK...I got off my dead butt and actually checked it out.  The large rifle case is a .300 Win Mag.  Although the caliber isn’t marked on the straight walled case I’m guessing it might be a .30 Carbine.  It’s one of the great “piss ‘em off but don’t let’s hurt ‘em” rounds of all time.

Photo (notice the maker somehow stamped/etched my name on it)

Good thinking and good price on those. I have seen some made with 30-06 Springfield and 450 Bushmaster. Being in the right place at the right time works out sell on occasion.
