Just sitting here on New Year’s Eve with nothing to do…so I cracked open a new pen and a bottle of ink I’ve been wanting to try since last year.

The pen: a TWSBI ECO Smoke and Rose Gold (1.1 stub).
The ink: Diamine November Rain (exclusive to Germany)

I don’t think I’ve ever been more pleased with a pen & ink pairing.

Yeah, the main vendor that ships is out of Germany so it takes a while. Good thing they have a really good reputation. I was hesitant at first til I started digging deeper and discovered, guess what, I’d bought from them before a few years back. LOL.

If you love the November Rain, know that Diamine has a number of inks of the same general type. There’s the Germany exclusive “Smoke on the Water”, “Skull & Roses”, “Purple Rain”, “Communication Breakdown”…and the Hong Kong exclusives “Lion Rock” and “Calm and Passion”. Then some of their Inkvent line have pretty significant sheen as well. Other companies are doing this crazy stuff too. Yup, for sure, we’re not in Kansas any more.

Examples of Diamine sheening inks (other companies make ‘em too)

Well…how ‘bout a TWSBI Mini, vac fill, diamond pattern barrel, silver aluminum end cap/interior mechanism/section. It’s only 4.5” long when closed compared to 5.5” for the standard…but is full size when posted (note pic). Mine is a medium. It’s loaded with Krishna Jungle Volcano ink. It’s a really great pocket size pen.

Very interesting. I've just discovered the TWISBI fountain pens. And there are so many nice pens and inks. Congratulations on your new pen and those are some beautiful inks.
