Last night I spent time with a friend who had recently lost his mid 90s mother. It was also the 13th anniversary of my wife's passing. We sat outside reminiscing, kept warm by a nice fire in his firedrum and too much scotch. I brought two very old Padilla 1932 belicosos. Ernesto Padilla has had cigars made by many manufacturers. These were very early production from Jose Pepin Garcia and they were extraordinary, but with age, rather than grow mellow, they became far more powerful than I remember.
Padilla cigars, in my opinion, should only be purchased if you know which factory actually made them. I've had some Padilla cigars, bought on special that were anything but special smokes.
