Pipe cleaners and cleaning newbie question

Is it true that aging pipe cleaners enhances their performance?

Only if kept in sealed, 16oz mason jars. The anaerobic action breaks down the fibers, strengthens the steel and develops its own solvent.

I dunno, Monbla, you might use them and go off all grouchy-like about how pipe cleaners ain't what they used to be... :lol:

Hardly an noob, but I have a question: Which do y'all favor: soft or bristly (bristley???).
I've always found the bristles work better than the soft.
Opinions?
