Recently saw the movie "Modigliani" where Andy Garcia plays the lead roll as an aspiring artist in France. The actor portraying Pablo Picasso is smoking some great pipes in many of the scenes. Highly recommended both for the pipe smoking and the great story line

Thanks for the heads-up. Picasso was, indeed, a pipe smoker, and he collected pipes nearly as much as he collected women! Salvador Dali was also a pipe smoker, but rumor had it he hated Picasso for political reasons.

Picasso with two of his collections.

Dali with pipe and friend. (Handholding among males in many countries is a sign of friendship.)

1. Larry Crowne: Cedric the Entertainer smokes what looks to be a Peterson.

2. I caught the original "Johnny Belinda" the other night on AMC. Set on Cape Breton, virtually all the men smoke pipes in the movie. This might be the six-pipe desert island referred to in a previous email.

Thanks for the other interesting info gents. Picasso was also despised by Modigliani not because of politics, but because of his self centered attitude and success. Great old photos I must add.
