I saw him about 10 years ago when he performed locally at the Mystic Lake Casino. Even in his 60s his voice had power. I think he was surprised at the reception and ovations he got before he even began to perform.

Meat Loaf, aka Marvin Lee Aday, the larger-than-life singer whose bombastic rock opera "Bat Out of Hell" is one of the best-selling albums of all time, has died at age 74, according to a statement on his verified Facebook page.
"Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side," the statement read. "Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours."

Meat Loaf's agent confirmed his death to CNN. No cause of death was shared.
Tributes poured in for the artist whose career spanned six decades.

The singer, whose real name is Marvin Lee Aday, was born in Dallas.

Meat Loaf's two biggest albums -- 1977's "Bat Out of Hell" and the 1993 follow-up "Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell" -- produced numerous hit singles, including "Paradise by the Dashboard Light," "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" and "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)."

He also won a Grammy in 1993 for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance for the song "I'd Do Anything for Love."

Meat Loaf also appeared in several television shows and films, including the cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Fight Club" and "Wayne's World."

I saw this this morning and was crushed, I don't normally give to much thought to celebrity deaths but I loved Meatloaf. Such a great singer and sadly I never got a chance to see him😪

Used to roll down the interstate with the ol' CD player cranked up with Meatloaf singin' and me drivin' like "A Bat Out of Hell! FTRPLT

Apparently, Meat Loaf was adamantly anti-Covid vaccine; anti-mask. His cause of death=Covid.

Howard Stern wants Meat Loaf’s family to speak out about COVID-19 vaccines — and believes the late singer got sucked into a “cult.”

The “Bat Out of Hell” singer died earlier this month at 74, reportedly of COVID-19. The late rocker had been vigorously opposed to masking and vaccine mandates.

In a recent interview last summer, Meat Loaf griped that masks are “useless. They don’t do anything. They don’t stop you from getting COVID. They’re just a nuisance and make your nose itch and make it so you can’t breathe.”

He added, “If I die, I die, but I’m not going to be controlled.”

Stern, “I wish the family would come forward and say, ‘Ya know, when Meat Loaf was laying there in the hospital and he couldn’t breathe, he said, ‘I made a mistake,'” he continued.

“‘I should have taken the vaccine.’ Like all these anti-vaxxers, they all say, ‘I made a mistake.'”
