TWSBI Diamond Mini Fountain Pen Classic 1.5 mm Stub. Most if that is pretty normal. It’s the fat 1.5 that’s the big deal. The 1.1 mm stub is the only one to be found here. No vendor in the US or Canada or even TWSBI itself still has the 1.5…only a few vendors in Western Europe (so far as I can find). So I found ONE model sold via Cult Pens in the UK…the Diamond Mini. I think Appleboom in the Netherlands might also have it.

One cool thing is that you can also get the 1.5 mm Stub as just the replacement nib assembly…but just for the Diamond Mini. There’s also the desirable Mini AL and the even more desirable Mini White w Rose Gold but only the standard version Classic and Clear allow an order with the wide stub.

Pics below show the Mini, the 1.5 mm stub nib & writing showing the difference between the standard 1.1 and rare 1.5 mm nibs.

Goodness that 1.5 is a wide nib. Blackhorse your really twisting my arm to buy a twisby

Yeah, the 1.5 is wide. Fills a gap in my lineup. Obviously not urging you buy anything in any particular direction, if at all.
Blackhorse I'm just messing with you but those twisbi’s are looking great and not expensive either.

Yeah Eggy, I knew that.

Note: if you do pick up one of the TWSBI pens, the ECO and the cheapie don’t have interchangeable nib units like the two Mini designs, the Diamond 580 piston fill and the 700 VAC fill. Plus…the piston fill pens have a better rep for being trouble free than the Vac.

Then again, you can typically buy two ECO pens for about the same as one of those more expensive ones.

But, if you’re like me, logic seldom plays much of a role. 😄

Would you consider this a better pen than the one you posted about a while ago...all black and around $15(?)?

Ahh yes. Now I remember.

I’d go for the TWSBI in a heartbeat.

WHY? Better design in several ways, like 1. a massive ink supply, 2. modular nib assembly that’s easily interchangeable within specific models (580 to 580…vac to vac…etc.) 3. Wide selection of nib sizes (EF, F, M, B, 1.1) 4. a vibrant and active company that continues to offer highly desirable Limited Edition models on an annual basis, 5. A company very well known to be responsive to customer issues, etc.

Which model? If I had to pick just one and it needed to be as cost effective as possible I’d go for the ECO Smoke Rose Gold In your choice of nibs (M for me…Goldilocks zone). Yeah, it’s a $50 pen instead of a $15 pen, but the value is there. If it needs to be a $30 pen then go for the standard ECO and pick from about ten currently available color schemes.
