Don't wait too long to see your music legends. I've never seen Merle Haggard but he was coming to our local WV casino on May 13th, we had tickets to that small venue. Now of course cancelled.

I've never seen Buddy Guy and just saw last night that he is playing July in nearby VA with Jeff Beck. I grabbed some tickets, told the wife. She said "we're always busy in July". I told her "you never know how long these guys are going to hang around". Lessons learned today.

I can't say I liked his politics but he never sang a note that didn't ring true. It's a sad day for all who loved the "Hag" RIP :( :(

Amen. On his birthday? Full circle.. I'll be playing his stuff tonight. I'm not a big fan, mind you, but I can appreciate the art..........

My dad had been in Vietnam for three months or so when "Okie from Muskogee" came out. My mom was not a big country music fan, but she wore that 45 out.

1958 The singer Johnny Cash visits San Quinten and sings a set including possibly the most bad ass version he ever did of Folsom Prison Blues.
A young inmate credits that performance for putting the fire in his heart to be a singer song writer... That young inmate went on to be a household name in America, Merle Haggard.

But I think The Possum nailed it on this one.
