I have a Safferling, kind of a stylized bent Dublin, and it's a pretty neat pipe. Quite unlike anything else I have, and since they don't pop up too often, I don't think I've ever seen two that look remotely alike.
Difficult to keep up with how many people are carving these days. Prices often make it difficult to spread the love. No big surprise that some quality work is missed.
Haven't heard that name in a while. Used to get good press on ASP about ten years ago - I think he was friends with Art Ruppelt of MingKahuna tampers (active ASPer), shared a table with Art at Chicago. Never owned one of his pipes, though.
