I also smoke on the way to and from work! It helps me relax and my right fingers are trained tampers 
I use a couple of specific pipes to do that, so it takes half a bowl to go to work and the rest on the way back. Before I leave the car, I insert a pipe cleaner and live it in the pipe. There is nothing better getting in the car and lighting up that pipe that rested for these 8 hours, its nice and ready to smoke and the tobacco tastes beautifully!
