Morning BoB! Another shave week commences. Today I’ll be going with my GEM MicroMatic Open Comb. Today’s soap is “High Speed” from Regimentgear.com. It’s a veteran owned company that has some great soaps. Have a fantastic Sunday

Pre shave: shower*
Razor: Gillette 1963 slim adjustable, setting 5
Blade: Astra SP. 5th and final shave
Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire
Brush: Maggard purple marble synthetic
Post shave: Vitabath Plus lotion

*I'm now of the mind that I get better shaves from a face wash and not a full shower. I think my skin gets too soft and/or hydrated from a full shower. I get all kinds of weepers if I shower first.

**and because I'm tired of water dripping down my arm, I finally ordered some wristbands

After 30 days of growing a beard even my antique Gillette would'nt hack it, had to go with a straight today. Pre de Provence mixed with (some of the last) bit of P.160. Pre de Provence aftershave balm.

Well, I'm not really into all this shaving stuff, so this is what I used today...

Gillette foam gel, Gillette Mach 3 razor, and Afta!!!
Incidentally, the the soap mug belonged to my Father. I grew up watching him shave almost every day with him using that mug to lather up the soap. He used an old regular razor with "blue" blades, and then splashed on Old Spice. The picture on the front is labeled "Ship Friendship" The bottom of the mug is etched: "Early American Old Spice, Shulton, Inc. , Clifton, N.J."

Can't beat Old Spice aftershave. The new formula Issa still good but man the original stuff was good

Morning BoB. My Mets after digging a hole for themselves and then almost climbing out are looking for a new manager. I hope they find a good one

Ah yes, those Amazin' Mets! Way back in the 1960's I used to watch the Mets on WOR-TV, channel 9! If they were loosing the game, I'd switch the channel to 11 and watch the Yankees!

Now the Mets & the Yanks are on WPIX. I’m hoping for a better outcome next year. The brush however never has disappointed <img class="emojione" alt="?" title=":sunglasses:" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/1f60e.png?v=2.2.7"/>

How do you like the Shark blades? I've been using Big Ben but am almost close to running low. Bought a 200 pack a couple years ago and haven't thought about blades in years lol. Or any other blades recommendations you have?

Depending on the razor, I use Voskhod’s or Gillette Silver Blues. I have a pack of NOS GEM blades that were manufactured in 1943 that I use in my NEW Short Comb sometimes
They were PAL, not GEM, my bad

I believe that is the first time a razor had aluminum on it. I leave one in the shower that I picked up at a garage sale for a couple bucks. In case I missed a spot and can make quick work of it while showering.

They were either steel or aluminum. Not sure which mine is. I never put a magnet on it. With the Shark Super Chrome blades it shaves like a dream
