First real signs of spring today here in the 'shire. It was warmer than we've been experiencing recently so I decided to sit out in the back garden to enjoy some spoils of war. The ordnance selected was a bowl of Capstan Navy Cut, accompanied by March's Nat Geo which I hadn't got round to reading. Jolly splendid combination it was, too; Professor Brian Cox's views on space exploration laced with swirls of smokey delight. [Sighs].

Here in Connecticut (one of the smaller colonies) we are now looking at wet snow with temps in the mid-30s, but the forecast is for sunny and 75o F on Sat. Meanwhile, 500 miles West, in the stalwart city of Pittsburgh, the soil is so steenkin saturated that landslides have become problematic for property owners and motorists who have long been accustomed to the mountains staying put. Well, I’ve smoked me pip in inclement weather before this.
