I noticed that Brother frankluke supports St Jude's.
This brought back numerous memories of Danny Thomas. There are those of us, I'm sure, that remember the old "Danny Thomas Show" and then daughter Marlo.
I recall listening to Danny Thomas being interviewed on the Larry King "radio" show, just days before he died suddenly of heart failure. It was in the days of Desert Storm. I recall feeling such a warm feeling that amidst a war and conflict that the world has such people as Danny Thomas.
Quite humbly, Danny Thomas shared his story of founding St Jude's. He was down and out and things were looking bleak. He made a vow that if things turned around for him, he would do something in honour of St. Jude.
Great man, generous heart and remembered. As I recall, it was near this time period that he died.
