So I have a C&R permit from ATF and do a good deal of buying ammo and firearms for my collection with it. I live in a small town where crime really isn't an issue, heck you can leave your doors unlocked and nobody would bother you. Anyhow, I have been getting annoyed because my purchases need to have a signature of someone 21 or older for delivery. Each package, at least the last 15 or so, has been left on the porch without so much as a knock or doorbell ring, and nobody signing for the packages. Mind you sometimes it's a ton of ammo, sometimes it is an SKS, sometimes just a little ammo or gun parts. Regardless it is "supposed" to be signed for and it isn't being signed for. Heck the package today, I got an email saying it had been delivered so I called home and asked someone to look on the porch and it was there. I tried to be nice and call UPS about it and explain that nobody is signing for these packages that are regulated by ATF. Either he is forging a signature to make his life easier or he is going back without a signature, regardless I have tracking numbers and receipts for all of it and nobody has signed for them. I told UPS what was in these boxes and they didn't care, so I told them I was going to contact ATF....okay by then I was mad and that portion wasn't tactful, but before that I was a perfect gentleman.

I contacted both the ATF national crime line and the regional office about it. I then put in a small order, just for 20 rounds, but even that requires a signature and he surely won't knock. Once that order is delivered I will again contact UPS and ask the morons who signed for the package and then ATF again. I'd love to have ATF come out the day it's due to arrive and just wait there to see this crap happening. Dude needs to be in cuffs in my opinon for either the forgery, if that's the case, or the leaving of firearms without signature. Needless to say that with this happening constantly over the last year or longer I am a bit on the upset side and plan to make sure it doesn't happen again. That's my rant for today.

So that's why you haven't been posting much lately - stocking up for The Revolution.  8)

Guess I don't have much room to talk about posting very much these days... <img class="emojione" alt="?" title="" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/1f937.png?v=2.2.7"/>

Nah, I still read posts but lurk in the dark until it's time to chime in. If I were home I'd be posting more. And yeah, you're never around so hush lol.

I wonder what would happen if someone stole tha ammo from your porch and you reported the theft to the authorities? Might be interesting. Chain of custody, standing in front of a judge, they might give a shit then.

Or an SKS

My UPS driver does the same thing, although I don't have weapons of mass destruction delivered to my door......................they go to the back door.
Anyway, he didn't do it at first but, now that he knows me I think he does it to save him some time and I understand that. I would talk to the driver personally, he may not even realize what he's delivering or just doesn't think it's that big of a deal specially if your out in the (semi) country like me.
Now I have no love for UPS as I stated in a earlier thread but, I do understand the pressure there under for speed of service and there work load.

I live purely in the country. He has never asked if it was okay and I have met him outside the door on multiple occasions to sign for these packages when I am there. Maybe it is just me being mad, but I am not a fan of someone forging my signature. Talking to a prior employee of them, it is common for them to do this and forge signatures to save them time. They are also a union which makes life fun for me, but I am still going after this. There is ALWAYS someone home to answer the door if he took the time to ring the bell or knock, but he doesn't do that. Where I live also is really small and his entire route is through the country where not a heck of lot of people actually use UPS. His work load isn't big like it would be in a city. He lives in the town and is always back home by 2pm. My ammo packages are all marked with those bright orange ordnance stickers, so he knows what he's leaving. Nope, he's going to do his job and stop scribbling my name onto his machine.

I understand sir, it's not pipe tobacco and he should take responsibility in doing his job properly without putting others in possible jeopardy.

I don't think it would ever happen, but I'd hate for ammo, much less a gun, to disappear off my doorstep. The town is only 533 people, but there isn't another town for 12 miles. I know the only neighbors I have, just sometimes outsiders drive through. Heck someone hit the mailbox with their mirror one night, I know this because the mirror was still there. I put the mailbox back up and tied their mirror to hang from it so they had a constant reminder when driving down that road. The mailbox is now reinforced more and could probably take any glancing blow, but would destroy someone who just clipped it.

Your starting to sound like me

UPS has done the same to me twice on large purchases. Nothing like comming home and finding 2000 rounds of 5.56 sitting on a metal chair on your front porch. We have groups of people that tail UPS and USPS looking for packages dropped off in view of the roadway.

I ordered more today. I am going to wait until it says delivered and then call them and say it never made it. Considering the contents I hope they crap themselves. I will also be asking to see who signed for it.
