"Day 2 of the bombing. The first flight dropped a massive piece of ordinance, which compromised the seals on the bunker and exposed the internal shell. Only one, and I began to work on repairing the auto guidance system on the AA guns. Crews scrambled to reinforce the bunker and get the ginnie up. Fuel lines are cut, spilling fuel all over the tarmack. The torrential rains kept the deck rinsed.

But today changed that.

Another wave flew over today. The biggest collection of various craft seen. One formation came in low and disabled the fifties and several SAMs. A huge lumbering armoured dirigible then appeared over the mountains supported by several light fighters throwing chaff and shooting down our drone phalanx. As it passed over the runway and hangers it unloaded an ungodly amount of napalm, lighting the runway fuel spill. We can hear explosions coming from the helo hanger, signalling that (short of escape tunnels) escape is unlikely at best. Quickly behind it from the opposite direction a large bomber unloaded another huge payload. Main systems are off line and the water is contaminated. Total chaose. I've sent a team to secure the tunnels, and tonight take a crew to try and find an aircraft to evacuate the non-combatants. Casualty numbers continue to rise.

This cannot stand."

“This cannot stand.”

Oh yeah. You’ll be groveling around in the muck and ashes for years before you’re back on your feet.

I imagine your grumble of pugs pulled a number of the family to safety. They’re a whole lot of dog...in a small space.

According to my OP, we’ve had a direct hit too. A most successful run squad, nice and tight on the grouping.

Not sure what my crew are up to. If they don’t square this one away tomorrow (Mon), they’ll be on the carpet when / if they make it back.

Just when we thought it was over, as Sunday was observed, today three stealth bombers broke through the repaired radar net and exasperated the evacuation and added to the damage reports. Sitrep pending. Retaliatory strikes are on the table.

There's been a couple of field promotions required.
