To me they look too "modern". That's a term I associate with cheap disposable goods. I'm sure they are very nice pipes, but the perfect laser carving evokes a visceral response in me that I can't get past.

Saw those at the Chicago pipe show and was tempted. I like the design.
 
I like those quite a bit. I wonder, though, how customized they can be. Does the matter of creativity lie in the hands of the producer only or does the laser technique open up design options (such as the aforementioned Celtic knot) to the consumer end.

I'd love to have one of these pipes carved to my exact specs, and I'd love to see what others come up with, as well.

These may not be for every taste, but I wasn't fond of rusticated pipes when I got started and now I love them. Carry on, I say.
 
I might pursue this to get a design etched in the briar on my old boy.
 
If I met someone that owned one I'd drool on it but I still don't see one in my future.
