Welcome, Danial, glad to have you here. Your travels towards and attraction to pipes is not uncommon, it can put you into almost a zen state and promotes thought, (or in my case, it shuts me up before I say something even more stooped than I had previously!) .

thanks Natch... somewhere is read that once Dalai Lama said that western people should better smoke a pipe or do some knitting if wanting to do some meditation - as smoking a pipe is a western way to relax and meditate so, i guess it is so

I recently finished a book set in your area and learned a great deal I didn't know about the former Yugoslavia. It was very moving and very sad. The Island of the World by Michael O'Brian.
