I am thinking about pulling the trigger and getting one of these Neerup pipes. I think I like the look of the darker, sandblasted one better, although I prefer the stem on the smooth. Anyone have experience with Neerup pipes or volcanos in general?

Neerups are fine pipes, my volcano pipes all smoke well. I lean slightly toward the smooth due to the lovely grain. I doubt you would be disappointed with either! FTRPLT

I decided to go with the smooth! Just ordered from SmokingPipes. Also bought a tin of Haunted Bookshop and a package of Tabac Manil Semois. GrampaGrossbart sent me a sample of it once, years ago, and I enjoyed it so figured I'd pick some more up. Was going to add a tin of the Mac Baren HH Rustica to try but looks like SmokingPipes is out of it.

I have 2 Neerups and they’re among my favorites. Unique without looking weird, well crafted, very smokable, and affordable. What’s not to like? Well done.

This will be my first Neerup - I'm excited. I have a couple Petersons, a couple Savinellis, three Boswells, a little Royal Dutch bulldog, a Johs Churchwarden, an unsmoked, cheap little Stanwell, and a really cool pipe my dad made me for my birthday years ago.
