Kyle, You travel light, that's good.
Tell me, have they caught up to you yet again?
I wish I traveled light.   This is a thread about collecting, after all.  If you believe that my collections of random knowledge and words are noteworthy, you should assume I put no less effort into the tangible, heavy stuff that actually takes up space.   Typewriters, guns, houseplants, chrome coffee objects, and recently--a few fountain pens. Then, there's the pipes and tobacco.

:quasihoarder:

PS, I love the cat collection picture at Yak Palace on laundry day.     A classic!  Oreo is so damn tiny in that one!

I haven't been a serious collector of anything (including pipes) since my teens, when it was vinyl. But I still seem to be "cleaning house" every few years, so obviously stuff still accumulates, however unintentionally.

Yak , does that particular fluffy you're looking at happen to be a mainecoon?

I have had 3 mainecoons. The first an ex took during a rough split, the second I had to give to my cousin the last time I moved(which I will soon kidnap him back). And my last little munster is a mainecoon/bengal mix, so she's got the fires of hell brewing inside of her soft, (generally, refer back to hell fire a'brewin) lovable, and fluffy outer shell. Inside, a demon dwells. :affraid:

We have one but she was hanging out under the bed instead of socialising with
the kitty committee. The one in the picture's a Norwegian Forest Cat. Lady paid
a fortune for him & divorced her husband, who turned him loose to live on his
own -- which he did for a couple of years 'til Mrs. Yak found out about him. He's
a mellow old soul. Mr. Affectionate.

Franciscan Starburst dinnerware
Love that pattern/shape!

My wife collects china, and found a nearly-complete 6-piece basic set of Starbust, plus s&p shakers and coffee service at Savers... didn't know what it was but sank what turned out to be a smart $40 investment...
Sweet deal!!
I spent more than that on four salad/soup bowls.

Well damn it, my thinly veiled ploy to see a pic of you wearing a fez didn't work.
Ok.
Here's a record I played on, back in 1993.
I'm wearing the Buddy Holly glasses.
And it's a terrible record.

I collect watches.  I've always had a fascination with them my entire life.  My collection has dwindled because I am focusing on quality over quantity.  I'm not in the realm of Rolex or Omega, but I do have some nice pieces.
Two lovely watches brother - fantastic illumination on the Deep Blue.

What make is the other watch?

My fiance wants a NorFor REAL bad. I'm glad you rescued him and he clearly has a family and mum to be happy with!

Well I was close, it's their cousin. :face:

HOWEVER -- if you are a dog : do not presume you have the run of the place
if you come visiting with your owner. The big cat will disabuse you of that
notion. Quickly and decisively.

Those are some nice one's sir. I collected some Camel watches for awhile LOL! But seriously I did but, that's about the limit of my pocket book and used coupons to get them. Love old pocket watches but, sadly can't afford to collect them either. But, I did finally find one reasonable enough to purchase to carry. After eons of wanting one I found a Waltham from 1906 with a silveroid case. Nothing fancy but, she's without cracks and runs fine.
I keep my eyes out for pocket watches, especially for Walthams.  Beautiful pieces.

I have about 10 watches right now.  As soon as I started with pipes, the watches slowed down. Imagine that!

I have three Deep Blues.  Fantastic watch for the money.  Their customer service is out of the world.  The Deep Blue is illuminated with 64 Tritium Tubes.  They constantly glow with out the need of a charge from light.

The watch you asked about is a Steinhart Nav B Uhr (B type). It has an Swiss ETA 2824 (same with he Deep Blue pictured) movement.  It is a WWII era style plot watch. One of my favorites.

Yeah, some pipes are pricier then some of them watches or just as. I'm only allowed to collect one certain item at a time. My pocket book won't allow several collections at a time anymore.
Like I NEED more collections.

I kinda collect old books nothing to series its just something I like to do. I have way to many guitars but that was not intentional.

I don't know if I really collect books or just accumulated books. I several complete sets of vintage Audel's plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanics also several sets of vintage encyclopedias, antique books of different kinds dating into the 1800's, antique price guides of course, vintage How to books from the 30's to 50's and atlases so on. Yeah, just accumulated without rhyme or reason except I liked them.

Yup.
The reason I said that was that I thought you might just be yanking our leg.
The album cover looks to be from the 50's in style and graphics is why.
