Mental Illness is a Terrible thing to Waste!
Always wondering if there are folks out there like me, yeah I know scary thought isn't it.
I've collected many things over the years including enemies but, need I digress.
I reckon I started pretty early collecting record albums, vinyl they call it nowadays then got interested in antiques and vintage items of all sorts. Salt and pepper shakers, glassware, pottery, you name it, if it was used back in the day I probably had at least one. But the big one for me was electrical apparatuses such as small appliances, clocks, radios, telephones fans, anything that plugged into the wall so to speak. Had a extra bedroom filled with Sunbeam appliances from the teens to the 40's for a few years and phones from the 20's to the 40's all through the house, hooked up and working of course and a kitchen fully equipped with the appliances of the 30's that were used on a regular basis. Use to wake up in the morning and have my coffee listening to a 40's radio. I had even made sure lighting including wall switches were of the time period. Now I have just a few remnants of all of it here and there through the house, sorta like small collections. I use get some strange looks and laughs as friends walked into the house. I remember one time a stranger needed to use the phone and I offered him in. He took one look at the phone and hesitated for a bit then asked me how to use it. I laughed and showed him he had to dial it with his finger, strange in deed someone hadn't seen a phone with a dial, it was what I grew up with and I aint as old as Ken. So away, now ya know what I collect or hoard, what's yours?
