    colonoscopy anyone?

Not the most fun... but way up there.

    Oriental forward? (and virginia tips?)

Peretti's Royal! Do it! If you want to go further, Tashkent. As to the problem of cigarette-y Virginias, smoke them slow, so slow they barely stay lit. I have to use big bowls to achieve this, given my habits.

    Tins You Won’t Open?

I did pop a tin of Classic Samsun last summer. Extravagance is sometimes justified.

    Tins You Won’t Open?

I have a relatively extensive cellar with many unicorns. The thing is, I enjoy so many easy to replenish blends (WCC, Peretti, codger, etc.) that it makes no sense to pop a $70+ tin, despite probably enjoying it 25% more. So the McClellands, the Pease Syrians, the old Dunhills just take up...

What are they putting in C&D tobacco?

Well, that's like saying champagne only truly comes from a small area in France. Maybe C&D only uses pure Poche, but I'm skeptical. That was an interesting article. What caught my eye was the varieties of leaf used in the varieties of perique-processed products including Virginia and dark...

I Swear, I Think I Like Buying and Aging Tobacco More Than I Do Smoking It...

Tastes change. I am prepared. It's actually fun when they do. Like a senile old guy always meeting new friends.

What are they putting in C&D tobacco?

I cannot tolerate the perique C&D uses (or used in early 2000s, I haven't purchased since). I do recall green, ammonia, undercured tastes that diminished in time, specific to C&D. Rather than continue dealing with them, I buy other brands.

    New pipe extremely sour

Although not exactly a sour taste, I got a very strong mouth burning from C&D perique blends. I chalk it up to an allergy. Allergies can often develop later in life. Oddly, perique blends from other companies have little to no affect. Given my history with that company and moldy products, I...

    Selling your McClelland's?

I needed a new heating system worse than tobacco. That, and cracking open a hundred dollar tin disturbed my frugal senses. I have many enjoyable WCC blends I like just as much. Let wealthy people enjoy their wealth with status symbols. It will soon be subzero here but warm indoors.

Are All Covid Threads Going To The Rubber Room Automatically?

Good on ya. There is certainly a cancel culture out there, but equally annoying is the shouting culture. It's nice to be free of spouters. They are wearying.

Is This Another Burn Your Bra Generation?

I got desensitized back in college art classes. The professor enjoyed hiring 70 year old women as nude models. "Everyone knows what a nude 24 year old looks like. With Thelma here, you HAVE to look and observe, and that's the point." Brrr. Despite hundreds of pairs of nicer ones observed...

Have You Ever Just Met Someone and Immediately Disliked Them

Looking back on my own awkward dickitude, I see it was a manifestation of immaturity. I'm much better now.

At What Point Did You Consider Yourself An Adult

I suppose I became an adult when I moved out of my parent's house at 18 and had to support myself. That said, I never bought into the "responsibility" of having kids, having observed my parent's happiness or lack thereof of having them. Many consider me not fully adult because of that. I fart...

At What Point Did You Consider Yourself An Adult

What in the Heck happened to C&D's cut?

2006 tin of Laurel Heights, for reference.  It's been open a few years; I don't care for C&D virginias.  I like the tin note, though.
