Can anyone compare the english/balkan blends of GL Pease (Odyssey, etc) to Comptons blends (Balkan, Macedonian, York) in terms of strength of flavor and balance? I've been a fan of Greg's blends (Odyssey, Maltese Falcon, Raven's Wing for several years) and have wondered what the difference is...

This is a very helpful review. I've been looking for a somewhat milder English blend, since I can't handle more than a couple of bowlfulls of GLP Odyssey and was looking at GLP Maltese Falcon. Where can I order Great Hiatus ??? Secondhandwolf

For a mild Dom try a Romeo Juliet gordo in a tube or an Avo. Myself, I prefer a CAO Brazilia Gol or an Indian Tabac Super Fuente Super Gordo, both have strong body, and complex flavors of leather, coffee, light spice, and hints of chocolate. Secondhandwolf

Compton's blends sound intriguing, but the prices are very high. I smoke only G.L. Pease Balkan/English blends and some Lancer's Slices. How would you compare these with any of Compton's blends? Otherwise, what do you think of his blends? Gentlemen, the floor is yours! Secondhandwolf

Is the flint system of sparking a bit better in a breeze than the piezo? Is there another sparking system that would be better?
