    What are you smoking?

I'm not nearly that witty. BUT, now that you mention it the next bowlful will be! Cheers! -Greg P.S. Capt. Black Regular in a vintage Barclay-Rex Apple.

    Checkin' in from the Burgh!!

Greetings from one board newbie to another! Although I'm in Ohio, I'm only about 40 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and about 25 minutes from Robinson. Can you point me to any good pipe and tobacco shops around town? Thanks!! -Greg

    What are you smoking?

Had some MacB Navy Flake in my Pete Kapet '6' and some Boswell's 'Majestic 586' in my Marxman Benchmade. N.B. I am about 99.999% certain that the Boswell's is simply Lane BCA and 1-Q blended 50/50 and given a new name. Not that that is a bad thing, mind you, I made a pound of it myself. BUT...

    Boswell's Northwoods

Great review, thanks for posting it! I recently got a couple of ounces of this, too, along with several of their aromatic offerings. I haven't tried the NW yet, as I am on an aro kick now, and, honestly, I'm finding that I just like aros better than Englishes for the most part. But, I'll look...

So Let's Say Your State Bans Tobacco Shipment...

Exactly! And to this point, I noticed on pipesandcigars that any orders from within NY would have upwards of a 75% tax added onto the order. How on earth do they get any walk-in retail business? Needless to say, if anyone in NY is looking to order from pipesandcigars, I may be able to help...

    3 for $52.99 on pipesandcigars

Thanks for the input, guys, you are probably right. Plus, there are a couple of Savinellis in that range that I've had my eye on anyway. :D

    What are you smoking?

Just had some MacB Club Blend in my new Dr. Grabow Duke. This pipe is a lot smaller than I thought it would be but I think it might be just right for a few coins of Club Blend or a flake of Erinmore. Not much more than that, though.

    What ever happened to Revelation

FWIW, there is a sealed tin on the bay right now. -Greg

    3 for $52.99 on pipesandcigars

Gents, I was wondering if anyone had taken advantage of this deal(?) on pipesandcigars and what types of pipes one ends up and what the quality is like. They are sold out right now but I am considering going that route, as well as buying more Dr. Grabows, to beef up my rotation. Thanks, in...

    Another Greeting from Ohio!

Howdy, Natch! Yes, I do use a DE. I have two No Date Code (i.e. 1949) Gillette Super Speeds that I use along with Derby blades and an assortment of Omega boar brushes. For soap I use Omega and Proraso in the tubes as well as P.160 and Cella. Cheers! -Greg

How to keep a flake lit?

Just wanted to thank you gents for a very helpful thread. I just got my first two tins of flakes today (Erinmore and MacB's Navy) and had a bit of a battle with the Navy but the few minutes I had it going just right were simply excellent. Hopefully will have better luck once I use what I've...

    Robert Downey Jr. As Sherlock????

I am glad to see the positive comments about this movie. I absolutely LOVED it and cannot wait for the sequel! IMHO, if one reads the originals closely, and even examines the few illustrations available, I believe that Guy Richie and RDJr got Holmes spot on. Much more so, again IMHO than any...

    Another Greeting from Ohio!

Howdy, Chaps! Greg here, checking in from Steubenville, Ohio. I'm glad to have found this forum and have benefited from some of the posted reviews and comments in the forums over the last few days, so thank you all for that. I took up the pipe in earnest a bit more than a year ago and have...
