I've been off work and the family didn't want to do anything so I've been reading, smoking, drinking, sleeping and even working out for the last two weeks. There was another book I read but I forget the title.

The last week I've read Blood Grove by Bledsoe, Luther's Commentary on Galatians and his work on Christian Liberty, I'm not a Serial Killer by Wells, Confessions of an Opium Eater by De Quincey and I'm now working on The Trial of Job by Durand.

I'm 34 and started about 6 months ago.

After America was a good read but Steyn's latest book, I can't remember the title, doesn't read as well. Right now I'm read Christianity and Liberalism by Machen and The Life and Diary of David Brainerd with notes by Edwards.

I have an estate pipe that has a brown stem. The stem turned a chocolate brown after the alcohol soak and cleaning so now I'd like to restore some of the shine to it. The brown doesn't look bad but the more I use the more I'd like to restore it to the original state. <iframe width="560"...

I smoked it again and the problem continued so in frustration I tamped it down tight and the it stopped. I could smoke without sound, puff in peace and relax.

It's listed as "cherry" but I've read that it is probably poplar. The stain is cherry and maple.

I've been smoking for a short time and have tried some lower end briar basket pipes and have to say my Missouri Meerschaum cob smokes the best. Good draw, it's a little hot so I smoke slower, but the best I have. Anyone else feel the same about the cob? :star:

GOT IT! It had a small section of it plug so I cleaned it up, should be good to go now, thanks folks. I don't think the baccy was too moist but I'll leave a bowl full out and try it again latter, perhaps tomorrow after church. :star:

Can I remove the stinger? I tried when I first got it but it seemed really secure, I was afraid of breaking it.

The estate pipe I recently cleaned up makes a light whistle but more often a gurgling sound when I draw. How to I quiet this thing down? It has a stinger if that matters, I thought I cleaned it well enough but maybe I didn't.
