Picked up this Brigham 3 dot Lovat today.....needs a good clean but a nice addition to my collection. Does anyone have a clue as what this yellow dot is......never seen one on a Brigham before.

Turns out it's a sweet smoker....and you're right ...it's definitely got character. The idea with the finish or lack of it is that the Sportsman series were made for the Ontario Sportsman Show back in the day....They were left unfinished with minimal carving so as to be used for outdoor...

I got this Brigham a few days.....took a lot of sanding, polishing and pipe cleaners but now she's a doozy and very comfortable to boot.

Yet still very informative.

I got this pipo this morning....it was a rustic black finish....in very bad condition, so I buffed and buffed, added a little tung oil and now she looks sweet....very happy with an hours work.

I don't think they make Olive handled Opinel mushroom knives for the UK market.....I have seen them in a No.8....very nice too. They use carbon steel in the standard knives but only stainless in the mushroom knives.....a shame really as the Opinel carbon steel is great stuff.

I never actually asked what to spend my cash on ....just looking for other perspectives....I can't be the only pipe smoker in my thirties wondering about the older generations knowledgeable take on this ......Can I ????
