Writes 100% of his songs and is not ashamed to sing about where he is from instead of selling-out to nashville and singing about margaritas and tractors. Is a staunch defender of his heritage (first nations people, American Cavalry men, riggers and cowboys) the ever growing complexity of the oilsands debate up here and the damage to the environment. He sings great truckin' songs, card playing songs, rodeo songs, whiskey songs, cavalry songs all with a folk singers twist.
