I'll play contrarian again: While I don't smoke many McClelland blends, I do smoke quite a bit of McClelland tobacco. Principally Blackwoods Flake, Christmas Cheer and 2015. I'm sure I have smoked more of their stuff, but nothing is coming to mind right now. In any event, I find that while the tobacco might be "moist" right out of the tin, the moisture content is pretty much spot on. I rub it out and load it right up with no ill effect. In fact, I find that when dried it tends to loose its sweetness and if dried too much can actually taste like ammonia or even vinegar. One of my favorite traditions is: While the wives (and now children) are out contributing to the Black Friday frenzy, a bunch of us get together for a pathetic game of tackle football at our old high school. After which, I limp home to my mother-in-laws place (my folks moved out of the area a few years ago), and crack open my first tin of Christmas Cheer of year. I don't pop the seal until I get home, and I don't let it dry out any more than it takes me to get a beer out of the fridge and make my way to the back patio. That is probably my favorite bowl of the year.
