Preach it brother, preach it! :joker: Kidding aside, many thanks AJ for posting this review. McCranie's Red Ribbon/Flake vs 5100 comes up often on the forums and it's always good to read of other's experiences with them. Me, I clearly remember becoming beguiled with McCranie's Red Ribbon back around '01 or so when I started getting serious about the pipe. Never had the flake back then though. Fast forward to '11 or so when I got back into piping after an 8+ yr hiatus, and joined BoB. Soon learned of 5100 bulk and duly got in a sample. It became a fast fave, and it reminded me of Red Ribbon, which I then got in and rediscovered it's delights. As well as the flake. For me, the difference is minimal at best and might as well be one and the same except for the cut. And while the price point on the bulk 5100 is clearly better than the McCrainie's I'll always have a tin or so of McCranie's on hand as it's one of those I started out on. That's my take FWIW. :P Cheers, RR
