Hello from just outside Kansas City, Missouri. These introduction posts are always a challenge; it's always hard to steer a path between saying too much and too little. So, a quick sketch of myself:
I've been smoking pipes on and off 9mostly off) for about 16 years. I've recently returned to the hobby because I'm finally almost old enough to smoke a pipe in public without looking like a kid trying on daddy's clothes, and because I'm trying to abandon the cigarette habit. (Trading a terrible vice for a less harmful and more pleasant one). I've also recently discovered the joys of cobs and of English blends.
I have about a dozen briars, and favour Petersons and Brebbias.
On the non-tobacco front, I have been an educator, a Marine, a reporter, an NucBioChem defence specialist for the Air Force Reserve, and currently work in IT.

Also, a note of explanation about my avatar. I don't fancy myself to be at all like Einstein; I do however think of him as a minor deity.

Doc-I am indeed. While I'm not up to charter-member-of-six-of-one levels of geekiness, I do own the whole series on DVD.

Welcome!
Loved The Prisoner, but you can erase the final episode.

Hi 6 and welcome. This is the place to come for "iinformation" and just a general good time. :pipe:

Welcome aboard!! Too bad House of Windsor went out of business. Revelation was Albert's favorite blend!! You can get clones of it!! Epiphany from Cornell & Diehl is very close!!

Nº 6,

Great nick. Great precursor. You have a name up to which you will have to live.

Be seeing you...
As ever,

PS-Avoiding leaving anything dangling taken to a medium-long distance. -d-

BTW--I, too, am somewhat of a devotee of Einstein, Feynman, Hawking, Thorne, et al,
(whoever al is), and am enamoured of the macro and nano, cosmology and particle physics, etc.. I even got to meet Kip Thorne a few times when I was at Berkeley, and had ½ an hour talking with Hawking after a lecture. Has a wicked sense of humour, does our Stephen. -d-
