Rande, I was playing a gig about 8 years ago out in Madison CA. Kind of a rowdy dinner party for the Yolo Land and Cattle Co, who were celebrating their recently signed land trust. The gig was insanely fun and was capped off by a strange slightly warm thin fleshly thing smacking me in the face during one of our more uptempo tunes. Trying my best to keep good rhythm, I shook it off, still wondering what the hell hit me when right under my nose I notice the sudden violent thrashing of a bat's wings. Our lead guitar player turned around looked at me and yelled "BAT!" The damn thing was hooked on my shirt collar, probably completely disoriented by the music we were still managing to make. Still playing, our guitar player then took the end of his telecaster and managed to flick it off my shirt with the headstock. Amazingly we finished the song with out a hitch! Although, I almost had a freaking heart attack. I definitely had a few more beers that usual that night to compenstate for my frayed nerves. Those suckers are far from cuddly.
