A local treat here, esp. around the holidays, are 'Moravian cookies'

One of Salem's bakeries is about 1/4 mile away, but it's rare to get a wiff. But today the wind must be just right, and worse, they're baking gingerbread cookies and the inside of the apt as well as the outside smell like a grandmother's kitchen is supposed to during the holidays!

Definitely distracting,,,,,before the Nestle factory closed here you could catch the aroma on a quiet summer night sometimes from miles away. Gingerbread wafting through the neighborhood though is pretty neat.
