I'm smoking it as I write this post. I wish I knew, just like I wish I knew what pipe tobacco Bing Crosby was smoking in those days. I wonder if movie goers were curious about those things back then? I figure they must have been, especially considering that more people by population percentage were pipe smokers in that time period. I figure that EGR could be based on a blend Robinson had smoked, possibly bought at a tobacconist's shop. That makes sense to me because we know he was involved in its creation, and the idea of what mixture it was going to be had to come from somewhere. I tried to find the publicity photo of Robinson with the blenders, but failed. It used to be on the internet. Btw, I had read in one Robinson biography, that his son had done some sales work regarding EGR, and hated doing it. Of course, the son had serious emotional issues. I don't know what part of his life he did that, but if it was later in his life, I'm sure he considered that to be a real come down after being an actor. On a side note, we know what tobacco Basil Rathbone smoked (Pipeworks and Wilke's #515). I wish there was some way to determine what blend Nigel Bruce smoked.
