What is the purpose of a stinger in a pipe? I have a Mastercraft with a removable stinger does it need to be left in the pipe? Am I correct in thinking that you would soak it in acohol to clean it?
 
A stinger is there to recondense moisture from the smoke. (How effective that is remains highly debateable.) A removable one can be taken out indefinitely and there's no need to put it back in to smoke. A soak in alcohol followed by a pipe-cleanering is fine to clean it.
 
I do beleive I'm going to remove the stinger, seems like it has to be clean every other smoke unless if it's something I'm doing wrong.
