In terms of the genealogy, not much done here. However, I know there are a number of folks here interested in the RAF during World War II. Most of the program is about her two grandfathers. Her paternal grandfather was one of the major test pilots for Hawker just before and during the War, including the Hurricane but apparently most importantly the Tempest (the plane that intercepted many of the V1s).</p><p></p><p>Her maternal grandfather would be of even more interest to some of us -- he was a flight officer shot down and captured. He was one of the 'habitual' escapers who was sent to Stalag Luft III -- the camp known for the 'Great Escape,' where he was primarily a map maker. It wasn't known if he was one of the men waiting for a chance down the tunnel when the escape was discovered, but he wasn't one of the men who made it through. He was also on the long march the Germans put the prisoners on at the end of the war to prevent them from being liberated by the Soviets. His journal provides some great insights.</p></blockquote><p></p>
