Just what I was thinking!

    Softees - Who uses 'em?

Just call me cheap but I clench with my lips as a protector. I already had callusses (sp?) on my lips from playing saxophone for 10 years so it seemed natural to me. The only pipes I use the softies on are estates that have been chewed through by previous owners.

13th ANNUAL TAPS PIPE and TOBACCIANA EXPO

About to hit the road now, been up since about 7 this morning. Worked the full time, worked the part time, came home, packed car, showered, and am now thinking I'm gonna be better off leaving before sleeping rather than try to get up in a little over 2 and a half hours. Definitely gonna brew a...

13th ANNUAL TAPS PIPE and TOBACCIANA EXPO

I'll be set up there. I don't think I'll have anything new from my shop but I'll have lots of estates and a few of my older pieces there. If the weather's bad this weekend I may get something new cranked out, but the garden and honeydo list have kept me from playing in the shop for a good long...

How much do you have cellared?

With the proposed new tax hike on top of the recent one I decided it's time to go ahead and add some bulks to my cellar. I purchased a 5 lb bag of MacBaren's VA #1 and a 5 lb bag of McClellands 2015 and got them "canned" this past weekend bringing my cellar to 40 pounds and 8 ounces. I'm heading...

    Oriental Tobacco Lovers - Which

McClelland's Grand Oriental Series are/is a great way to explore the differences between the orientals. If i had to pick a favorite it'd be Katerini Classic.

Anyone Familiar with one of these critters?

Imagine the difficulty in getting tobacco today if everyone smoked a pipe

    Help with Pipe

I have a Johs pipe, not a churchwarden, but it's a great looking pipe that smokes great too, FWIW.

Don't blame the Baccy, blame the Smoker

I've found a few reviewers who rate tobaccos highly that i really like then look at their other reviews to get ideas. I just ignore if the reviewer bitches about bite or heat or moisture as they are typically smoker-related more than tobacco. If I read a tin description that catches me I will...

    What are you smoking?

I guess that means I'm the only loser at the computer for New Years! Anyhow I'm gonna go load a bowl of aged Va #1 in an old Weber Royal Band shape 230, probably (maybe) one of the earliest American volcano shapes[/img] Happy New Year! May you each have good health, good fortune and good...

    I learned something today...

Since we're talkin' shit, how often should a septic tank be pumped? We've been in our house for about 7 years now and have never had it done. Do you wait 'til it really needs it or what? I grew up on city water and sewer so know little about these things. (2 adults the entire 7 years, 1 young'un...

    Christmas Cheer

I am working on an open tin of the '09 and have a bit of '03 and '06 in little jars, I will be smoking them all throughout the day on Christmas. I will also have my first bowl of my gifted Irish Flake on Christmas Eve, thanks SS :santa: !

    Snow of the Decade...

We ended up with about 12 inches give or take, depending on elevation. Friday afternoon was the worst with everyone trying to get home, but by Friday night the idiots were mostly out of the way. This morning's drive in was probably the most dangerous driving of all weekend with the black ice...
