puttering around the house, cleaning with C&D's Billy Bud in my Peterson Irish Made Army, listening to an audiobook. I've gotta say on a day like today, life is pretty grand!
be well,

Just wondering...I've always rubbed out my VA flakes, but I know there are a lot of guys who cut it. Is there a particular benefit that you see from cutting it over rubbing it out?

So I didn't end up smoking until later than expected, but it was a lovely one. C&D Opening Night seemed more than appropriate for the new year in a Savinelli Champagne EX lumberman. Awesome start to the New Year!
I'm on an Iwan Ries English Gourmet kick at the moment...just finishing up a bowl in a new (to me) Stanwell lumberman. Enjoying the hell out of it. I'm far too relaxed considering I've gotta head to work here in half an hour...I kind of just want to go ahead and call it a night!
I just thought it might be nice to start a thread to see what everyone's having as their first smoke of 2011. I'm working tonight, so I won't be able to actually smoke until I get home, about 5 or 6 in the morning. I got three new (to me) pipes this week so I'm more than a little excited to...
It's nice to see that some of you are into the Old Dog, as I just got my first tin today. If I hadn't just lit up a lovely Va Flake, I'd have to pack a bowl right now.
IRC Virginia Flake out of my Savinelli Iwan Ries 150th Anniversary...I'm melting into my chair. I'm not generally a guy to dedicate a pipe to a specific blend, but I've certainly got a match made in heaven here.
Greetings from Chicago!
I want to start off with a thank you...so, thank you all! I've been lurking for about a month and must say that I've learned more about tobacco and pipe smoking in that time than in all my previous 38 years.
I live in Chicago and have for about 15 years. I love...
