Many thanks for your help - it makes sense that it would be used for matches until you need new blades and you would buy a new blade box.

Hi all - first time poster :) I have, what I thought originally, was just a Gillette Blade Box - on closer inspection on the bottom is a striker for matches. Did Gillette make Blade boxes which were also used as a Vesta Case? On the top of the lid it does say Gillette Blades. On the side...
