Hi all - first time poster :)

I have, what I thought originally, was just a Gillette Blade Box - on closer inspection on the bottom is a striker for matches. Did Gillette make Blade boxes which were also used as a Vesta Case? On the top of the lid it does say Gillette Blades. On the side of the lid it has the Gillette trademark and says Gillette known the world over.

Cheers
Grant

I ran into this somewhere else but what I recall is that it is indeed a strike plate for matches. it was meant to be a match safe after you used your blades and by the time you used your new blades that you bought it was time for a new match safe and fresh strike plate. I think I came across this on a shaving website but cannot remember which, sorry. I hope this helps, I think it is right but could not swear to it.

Many thanks for your help - it makes sense that it would be used for matches until you need new blades and you would buy a new blade box.
