What kind of tobacco does Santa smoke?

First, in regard to the tobacco Santa would smoke…Christmas Cheer, of course (with a little age on it). In regard to the smoking/PC debate in general…I've been angry too, but thankfully, I've learned to let go a bit. We aren't mainstream, and we aren't going to be. It's just an unfortunate...

    West Coast Pipe Show

Aha. Thank you Doc for that information. That is what I wanted to see. I went last year and enjoyed it quite a bit! I'll be there again this year.

    West Coast Pipe Show

I would appreciate it if you could tell me the vendors that you know will be there. Thanks

    West Coast Pipe Show

I'm disappointed that with less than two weeks until the show, there is not a vendor list posted. Not as disappointed as I would be if I was a vendor though. I don't understand how the organizers can put in so much hard work to put the show together only to leave it up to trust/hope/faith that...

    Dunhill Pipe Price Increase

I see Dunhill pipe prices have increased about 20% in the last month or so. I can't remember the last time I saw inflation like that without a reason behind it. I also wonder if that has implications for other brands and/or tobacco prices. Any thoughts?

    Fillmore Horrid stuff IMO

Yep. There is a review of Fillmore on the Pipes Magazine Forum from June 28, 2010, and in the comments, Greg Pease talks about adding the Latakia.

    Fillmore Horrid stuff IMO

I'm pretty sure it's Fillmore. Just 1 or 2% Latakia.

    Dunhill Brings Back Elizabethan Mixture

Well, like I said, maybe it's just me. I appreciate you pointing out that he was representing St James as an alternative. I didn't read it that way. I guess I'm a little grumpy in my old age. My apologies.

    Dunhill Brings Back Elizabethan Mixture

It sure comes off to me as if what you're saying is, "4Noggins doesn't have EM, but they have St James Flake, so buy that instead." I mean, first of all, this is a thread about interest in EM. Second, when you say, "Given what everyone says..," it sounds to me like you haven't even tried it...

    Dunhill Brings Back Elizabethan Mixture

Well, I can't compare this stuff to the old stuff.  I tried the mixture in the 90's, but I didn't appreciate anything about Virginias or Vapers back then.  In fact, just for perspective, I still don't appreciate straight Virginias too much.  Generally, I find them too one-dimensional and bland...

    Top Ten List Application

Yes. But the question is, do you have anything other than those three laying around and, if so, how much?

    Top Ten List Application

Last night I was smoking a bowl of Wessex Brigade Classic Virginia with Perique. My first thought was that it's a nice tobacco and that there isn't a very big gap between a nice tobacco and a brilliant tobacco. And yet, that gap makes such a difference. The virginias were sweet, but not quite...

    Sterilising Mason Jars: Necessary?

I saw a post once (I thought it was here) in which a member with access to the appropriate testing equipment tested jars in various states of cleanliness for contamination. The new unwashed jars were the best (least contaminated).

    Aksenov Pipes

I am happy to see Yuriy's pipes being sold on the scandpipes site now. I have two (that were a real bargain just three years ago) and I always thought they are superior to many of the artisan pipes out there these days.
