I have been buying SWR at the native Indian smoke shop in town for a couple of years. Was getting the 14 oz tub for $29 or approx $2 per oz. Went up today after reading Jim's post about having several tubs of SWRA, thinking I would stock up and buy whatever they had. Still $29 but for a 7 oz tub, or double the price to $4 an oz. I then googled online and the cheapest I could find was $20 for a 7 oz tub at P&C. Bought 5 tubs for $104, or roughly $3 per oz. Don't like the increase but I love the tobacco and I need it to make Urban Cowboy or Round Up. Wish now I had bought 10 tubs when it was $2 at the Indian smoke shop. Anybody know of a suitable bulk substitute?

For what it's worth, gouging. Inflation is incremental, when an item jumps 50-100% of its recent pricing the seller is either catching up to the market or getting a jump on it. Either way, it's a kick in the teeth for the consumer, Sorry to hear one of your favourites is caught up in this Ranger.

Thanks, never knew about them. Bid on 5 tubs at $7. Winning 2 of them but 11 hours to go so we'll see if it holds.
Did you win those tubs Ranger? I just got the P&C email about their SWR going on sale today, but it's still $24.17 for 7 oz. tub. That's almost as much as a tub of Captain Black, which is ridiculous IMHO lol

Won 1 of them for $7 + $7 shipping so $14 for 7 oz tub. I had ordered 5 from P&C for $20 each. Cheapest I found anywhere.

I am a regular at cigarbid, I usually do pretty good there, you have to really know your prices and also not get caught up in the bidding wars...

took me a bit to get used to the way multiple bidders knock each other off the winners list
Yeah, it's a bit cut throat on there. I've been seeing the same people on there buying up a lot of tobacco. Kind of strange that someone wants 10 tubs of Borkum Riff Whiskey and 15 tubs of Captain Black Cherry, then I'll see the same person bidding on all the tins of Peterson Hyde Park, then he will bid on every single pouch tobacco on the site. And its not like one or two pouches, it's the whole lot. Just odd. I'm for building up a cellar, but being greedy is another thing. It almost looks as if someone is buying everything up to resell it.

As soon as a source gains any publicity, the deals are gone. There were deals on cigarbid up until about last month, then there were some mentions on social media, then Bob's your uncle (more than retail).
