    Zippo Pipe Lighter

LIPIPE, I think it's related to how often you use the lighter and what kind of flints you use. Some flints are dirtier than others... I generally clean my own lighter about once a month or when I experience vapor lock. Here's my routine: 1. Remove the lighter from the case 2. Dribble a small...

    Zippo Pipe Lighter

Muddler has a point about the gas lock. I personally find it useful to take a Q-tip dabbed in lighter fluid to the area where the wick comes up. Flint tends to build up there and makes the lock worse.

General Consensus and Cigars and Pipes

Guidelines are just that. It's a listing of things that others have tried and had (or not) success with. Unfortunately when those experiences get listed on a forum, they can be overwhelming. My suggestion is to get the pipe lit. Once you've accomplished that, work on keeping it going. After...

    Dan Tobacco Da Vinci

The first time I grabbed a tin of this I found myself through it by weeks end. Even the dottle was irresistable.

Sent a pipe in for repair.... kind of.

I've done this myself after having a favored pipe break. Although I don't collect for the sake of value, keeping an extra stem on hand allows you to remove the broken bit and keep on smoking. My general go to pipe is likely one of the ugliest things you've ever seen (cracks and all) and I'm...

    Disposable lighters.

Happy I could entertain. Strange misfortunes are often the seeds of hilarity. I do wonder if I should change my name to "Spazzkat."

    Your brand of cleaners?

I used to use Dill's, now I use Long's. Not sure if I'm heavy handed or what, but the Long's seem to bend a lot.

    Pipe Dedication-Burleys and English

The only time I've ever truly dedicated a pipe to a specific tobacco was/is in the case of Presbyterian Mix. I'm not sure that is possible to get the flavor out of a pipe after smoking the stuff regularly. It certainly makes everything else taste bland and tainted. I have found however that...

    Disposable lighters.

I guess everyone has to start somewhere, so for my first post I shall regale you with what happened at lunch today. I am normally a die hard zippo fan. However, I am in the middle of moving and most of my stuff is packed. The zippo that I normally carry broke this weekend so I went out and...

    New here.

Hello everyone. Just dropping a line to introduce myself. I currently live in NY and have been a pipe smoker for about 20 years. As a hobby, I collect and refurbish pipes and other tobacciana. I'm always on an information hunt for new ideas and this looked like a good place to stop.
