    Hi from Indiana!

You are so right. Pipe smokers are also collectors, much to the dismay of our wives. They collect things like shoes, etc. They just don't call it collecting. Welcome to the forum.

How often do you remove the stem?

I very rarely remove the mouthpiece from the stem. I run a cleaner through the whole thing after each smoke and leave the pipe cleaner in long enough to absorb moisture. Works for my bents also. Don't buy a pipe that won't pass the pipe cleaner test. Ken

    Changing Tastes

My taste buds change from time to time also. I used to smoke only Latakia blends, but was not tolerated in the house. Winter pipe smoking outside is no fun. Over the years, I have tried many tobaccos, but now I only smoke two; Carter Hall in the mornings and Lane's 1Q in the afternoon and...

    Smoking In Parks

Markx, I like your approach to the smoking ban problem. I tend to ignore stupid rules such as you can't smoke walking downtown. I do anyway. I do try to be considerate of others, but I'm outdoors for crying out loud. If we don't stand up for our rights, the anti-smoking group may prevail. I was...

When to give up the ghost?

I try to keep my pipe smoking simple. The end of the bowl is when I feel like ending it. Sometimes half way somtimes near the bottom. If I go to the bottom, I do like Harlock, three relights and thats it. I rarely smoke it all the way.

    DE Razor Care

It's not a silly question at all. I have been using DE razors for a very long time, and I always open up and remove the blade, then run hot water over the razor and blade. I then wipe the razor dry and shake the blade to remove the water. If the razor or blade is left in the razor, a film...

Welcome. I'm a nice guy too. The wierd looks while smoking in public never goes away. I'm almost 54, and I still get all kinds of nasty looks and responses. Well, sorry, I got to be me. Glad you are here. Ken
