The Book of Pipes and Tobacco, by Carl Ehwa Jr.

This is the book that got me interested in pipes. We were on a family vacation in British Columbia to see a relative's wedding, and my dad found this book at a bookstore. Knowing I liked smoking cigars, he offered to buy it for me. I read it on the way home and went and bought a pipe as soon as...

    Tamper collection

None of these tampers cost a great deal, all under $25 a piece, but they have helped me get my rotation down to a regular routine, and it's a pleasure to use them. Lofty Thoughts of a Tobacco Smoker

The sheet music in the picture is a piece by Bach in praise of tobacco smokers, Erbauliche Gedanken eines Tabaksrauchers (BWV 515), "Lofty Thoughts of a Tobacco Smoker." I'm learning the piece, and when it's ready I'll play it for you BoBs. It is the music Bach set to a German poem.

    Cellaring bulk tobacco

I have a question, if cellaring bulk tobacco in vacuum sealer bags won't let the tobacco age, because there's no oxygen for fermentation, why do vacuum sealed tins work so well in the aging of tobacco?

I'm smoking Macbaren Virginia no 1 in this CAO bent bulldog that I got at the West Coast Pipe Show in 2009. Hoping to pick up some more meerschaums in Chicago.

    Classical guitarist and smoker

I currently have over forty briar and meerschaums, I play classical guitar at a few restaurants in Portland, Oregon. I used to have a pipe club I could go to once a week but they stopped meeting, I'd love to have a group to meet with again. I'll be at the Chicago Pipe Show next month, hope to...
