    What Are You Smoking Pages.

This happened to me about 14 years ago. Our small town was getting swamped and losing its small town charm. I sold and moved further into the country. Never regretted it. Our only neighbors now are the geese that visit a nearby pond.

Talk to me about English blends

Hey guys, based on some recommendations here I ordered and just received; Stokkerbies English Oriental Supreme, Proper English, and Peterson' Morning Pipe. The lattakia smell is very distinctive and strong. Im thinking I might need another pipe to sample these because if I dont like them, the...

    Hello from the UK!

Sounds like a plan. So far I have found that the time to have a pipe seems to present itself without any preemptive planning from me. I find it easy to put the pipe down, and it doesnt pull me or insist on being smoked like cigarettes did. I think most pipe smokers find they can put a pipe down...

    Hello from the UK!

Hello and welcome. I was in the same position for a long time. I was interested in pipe smoking for a while before I finally decided to give it a try. Alot of good info here from knowledgeable pipesmen.

    Screens

I put a screen in my pipe. It came with a screen, some filters, and pipe cleaners so I use them. Not sure if its needed but it makes sense to keep the tobacco packed where you want it.

Talk to me about English blends

Yes thank you. I have been buying the small 1oz of different types to see what I like best. Some only came in pouches like Borkum Riff and Sir walter Raleigh...I found i did not care for either. The Borkum Riff was harsh, and the Raleigh was so bitter and horrid I consider it unsmoke-able.

Talk to me about English blends

Thanks for the advice guys. Im ordering a number of the blends recommended. One thing I have found with aromatics is they smell great but the experience of smoking them has little to do with the aroma. They dont smoke the way they taste, and Im finding sometimes the more enjoyable smokes arent...

Thank you. Ive also got the sutliff buttered rum, its a blend of burley and virginia and I think I like the way it smokes a little better than the dark cavendish, so I might really like the Gold. Im also becoming curious about English blends.

    What led us to pipes?

My first pipe was had about 4 weeks ago at the age of 51 [ me, not the pipe ]. I was perusing the internet and came across a website filled with interesting oddballs who were pipe enthusiasts; brothers of the-something-or-other. I started reading about all these delicious sounding tobaccos, and...

    Greetings from upstate NY

Hello all. Ive been peeping in here for about a year and reading about pipes and pipe smoking. It was this forum that motivated me to finally take the plunge and pick up my first pipe. Ive been enjoying a pipe for several weeks now so I decided to join. My very first tobacco was Sutliff's Black...
