Sounds like a plan. So far I have found that the time to have a pipe seems to present itself without any preemptive planning from me. I find it easy to put the pipe down, and it doesnt pull me or insist on being smoked like cigarettes did. I think most pipe smokers find they can put a pipe down...

Hello and welcome. I was in the same position for a long time. I was interested in pipe smoking for a while before I finally decided to give it a try. Alot of good info here from knowledgeable pipesmen.

I put a screen in my pipe. It came with a screen, some filters, and pipe cleaners so I use them. Not sure if its needed but it makes sense to keep the tobacco packed where you want it.

Yes thank you. I have been buying the small 1oz of different types to see what I like best. Some only came in pouches like Borkum Riff and Sir walter Raleigh...I found i did not care for either. The Borkum Riff was harsh, and the Raleigh was so bitter and horrid I consider it unsmoke-able.

Thanks for the advice guys. Im ordering a number of the blends recommended. One thing I have found with aromatics is they smell great but the experience of smoking them has little to do with the aroma. They dont smoke the way they taste, and Im finding sometimes the more enjoyable smokes arent...
