I still read the forums, but don't log in to BoB as much as I should. I have been looking at all the cool things you guys have been making, congrats on all the good work. I figured while I was on I'd post a few of the projects I've been working on lately.
Single & double pipe stands stained in Early American with a semi-gloss poly clearcoat.
A couple single churchwarden stands stained in Golden Oak with a semi-gloss poly clearcoat.
I smoke the Cobbit Shire with a bent MM danish bit, so I decided to give the churchwarden stem a purpose on another pipe. I originally modded a hardwood Diplomat Apple because the shank was only 1/4 way into the bowl. When I fixed it previously, I cut the bowl end off of the shank which left it with 1/4" draft hole. I smoked it a few times, but always ran into problems even with a filter. This is what the draft hole looks like after I modded & mudded it.
To fix the draft hole problem, I cut a piece of 1/4" dowel rod, drilled it to 7/64" & fit it into the shank.
I think it looks pretty good with the churchwarden stem on it & it smokes a lot cooler with the longer stem.
Thanks for looking.
