For those brethren and sistren who are aficionados of fine loose-leaf tea, I found this tea back in May, right after the Spring 2018 picking became available:

Imperial Pure Gold Bi Luo Chun Black Tea of Feng Qing - Autumn*2018

It sold out so fast that I was only able to grab one small 50 gram packet. It is absolutely the best Congou (Chinese red tea...the stuff most undiscerning Westerners call "black" tea) I've ever tasted. As you can see, there's nothing "black" about it:

Fortunately, I caught this Autumn 2018 picking before it was all gone, and I ordered 500g. It oughta last me until Spring 2019.

It's on sale now (15% discount until Monday...if it lasts that long), but you have to remember to enter the BF15 coupon code when you check out. I forgot to do that, but Scott at YunnanSourcing is so friggin' awesome that he refunded me the 15%.

I've been buying from YunnanSourcing.com for years. It's a first class operation.

BTW, the shipping options can be confusing. They're explained in full here: Yunnan Sourcing Shipping Page

If you're not sure whether you can trust your package to be there when the mailman drops it off, choose China Post EMS. If you're confident that some assclown won't steal the package, China Post Express - Large to US prolly has the best combination of economy and short shipping time.

There are only a couple of other teas I’d pay this much for, and they’re not as good as this one.

Yunnan Sourcing and Scott have been my sole supplier for many years now. I tend to do one large order per year to make China Post rates sensible.

Just picked up 100g of this per your recommendation. I also added 100g of Imperial Jasmine Green Teal pearls as well.

For those interested, I applied coupon code YS8 at checkout for a little discount.

Thanks for the rec.

Actually, the BF15 coupon code I mentioned in my OP applies a 15% discount to everything on the YunnanSourcing website through Monday. Anything you put in your cart will get the 15% discount.

There’s a big banner ad about the BF15 discount on the Yunnan Sourcing home page, but if you bypass the home page, you’ll miss it.

Well Duh! Im not the brightest bulb in the bunch.
Don't come down on yourself too hard, BB; I did the same thang.

Hey, I see you're a denizen of SoCal too. Did y'all get a lotta rain in that storm that passed through last week? We got clobbered up here in the hills above the San Gabriel Valley...thunder, lightning, hail, some roaring wind. It was delicious!

And it wasn't one of those "Slam, bam, thank you ma'am" meteorological ejaculations that burns off before the grass roots even know it. It was 0.6 inches—a relative pittance in areas like the Pacific Northwest, or Back East<img class="emojione" alt="™️" title=":tm:" title=":tm:" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/2122.png?v=2.2.7"/>, where they get rain in near Biblical torrents. But it's a boon here in drought-ridden SoCal — enough rain that the ground is still damp three days later.

Looks like the brown hills will be green for Christmas.

I sampled the tea for the first time tonight. It is delicious. Perhaps my favorite. I hope I remember when it becomes available for Spring of 2019, I would like to pick up a greater quantity.

For most Yunnan cultivars, the Spring picking typically has a sweeter, more refined, and more focused flavor than the Autumn picking. The Autumn picking is more robust. To me, they're both worth the price of admission.

Get yourself on YunnanSourcing's mailing list and you'll be more likely not to miss the release of the Spring picking.
